Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers picked their top four teams to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2023

Gujarat Titans will take on Chennai Super Kings in the first game of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. All ten teams readdressed their squads during the 2023 IPL auction, and now every team looks quite capable of winning the trophy. But among ten teams, it will be only one that will be crowned as the champions.

Notably, a lot of former cricketers and cricket pundits have shared their predictions ahead of the start of the tournament. The latest to do so are former RCB stars Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Both superstars have picked four teams each that will make the playoffs this season.

The biggest Twenty20 competition in the world will have a total of 74 games, which will run for a little over two months, and all teams will play half of their group games at home, which is happening after three years since 2020. De Villiers and Gayle are two of the biggest icons to have appeared in the IPL.

Gayle has predicted the Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Gujarat Titans will qualify for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, De Villiers has picked an RCB in one of his four. He has picked Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and GT to be the other three teams to finish in the playoffs of the 16th edition.
