Gujarat Titans have started the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League exactly where they left it in the IPL 2022. They have dominated both of their opponents in their first two games and are the team to beat. The defending champion beat the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings in their first game.

In the second game, they won against the Delhi Capitals, and both wins came while chasing. But one thing that is very good about the defending champion is that they don't rely on one player or an individual, and whenever they win, it is always a different player who stands up to the challenge.

Just like the last night, when GT locked horns with the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. It was a tricky chase of 162 runs on a pitch that had something for the bowlers. On top of that, GT also lost both in-form openers early.

Wriddhiman Saha (14) and Shubman Gill (14) couldn't give them a good start, even though skipper Hardik Pandya was the third player to get dismissed within the first six overs. But after that, a 21-year-old held his nerve and took GT to the win.

It was the Tamil Nadu batter Sai Sudharsan, who scored his second IPL fifty and remained unbeaten till the very end. He added 53 runs with Vijay Shankar (29) for the fourth wicket and followed it up with an unbeaten 56-run partnership with David Miller (31* off 16) to seal the deal for Gujarat.

Sudharsan scored 62 not out from 48, including two centuries and four boundaries. GT made 163/4 and won with six wickets and 11 balls to spare. After the game, GT skipper Hardik praised the youngster and said that he will play for India soon.

Hardik said, "He (Sudharsan) is been batting terrifically. All the result you see is all his hard work. Going forward, in 2-3 years, he’ll do something great for franchise cricket and eventually for India as well."

The 21-year-old was also adjudged "Man of the Match" for his mature inning. It was the second loss for DC in their opening games, and GT is at the top with two wins. Gujarat will now face Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
