3 unsold wicket-keepers who can be an ideal replacement for Rishabh Pant in IPL 2023 for DC
After a horrible car accident, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will be out of the action for at least the next six months, which has certainly put the Delhi Capitals in an unpleasent situation. Now the franchise will have to look for someone who can lead the team in the upcoming Indian Premier League season.
Some media reports confirmed that David Warner is likely to lead the side. But then the franchise will look for Pant's replacement as well because they don't have any other Indian wicketkeepers in the side. They have Phil Salt as an overseason wicket-keeper but that means that they have to adjust him in the four overseas slot.
Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan can be an option; he has kept wickets for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, but the franchise should look for a proper wicketkeeper, and we can consider three players who can do this job as they went unsold at the 2023 auction.
1. Luvnith Sisodia
Karnataka star Luvnith Sisodia was in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in the 2022 season, but he was released by the franchise ahead of the auction. He went unsold, but he can be an ideal replacement. Just like Pant, Sisodia is also a left-handed hitter who has played some T20s for his state. The 22-year-old had a decent campgain in the Maharaja Trophy 2022, and he can be a brilliant investment for the future as DC doesn't have any back-up wicketkeepers.
2. Dinesh Bawa
It came as a surprise when the man who hit the winning six in the final of the U19 World Cup last year to win India the tournament, Dinesh Bawa, didn't get any buyers at the auction. He was part of the Chennai Super Kings last season and is a hard-hitting finisher who can hit the ball very far. DC missed a finisher last season, and Bana can prove to be a good investment for the future if DC can grow him.
3. Sheldon Jackson
Saurastra wicketkeeper-batter Sheldon Jackson is a consistent performer on the domestic circuit. He is brilliant behind the wicket and has experience playing in the high-voltage environment of the IPL. With Pant not on the team, the DC middle order looks a bit weak, and Jackson can be a batter who can be a consistent performer in the middle order.
