After an exciting last season of the Indian Premier League in 2022, fans are excited for the next edition, which will kick off in March 2023. The four-time champion, Chennai Super Kings, didn't have a good performance in 2022 and finished ninth in the table with only four wins out of 14.
However, with the BCCI confirming that the upcoming edition will be played on a home-and-away format with all teams playing half of their games at home and the rest away, this means that CSK will play their home games in front of their home crowd.
And it will be MS Dhoni who will lead the team at home, which has made the fans more excited for the coming season. The last season saw a change in captaincy, and Ravindra Jadeja was given the captaincy job. But midway through, MS Dhoni was given the captaincy once again.
The next edition will start in the last week of March, and it will see MS Dhoni returning to the cricket field. And MSD has already started training for the upcoming editions. On Thursday, a video circulated on social media featuring MSD sweating hard in the nets.
The video clip quickly went viral, and fans enjoyed watching him demonstrate his batting skills. After a poor season in 2022, CSK is expected to do well in the upcoming season. The franchise has done a good job in the IPL auction 2023 and roped in Ben Stokes to their team, which will provide the team with a great balance.

Dhoni has already confirmed that this might be his last season of the IPL, and he wants to play it in front of the home crowd. MSD has scored 4978 runs at a strike rate of 135.20, including 23 half-centuries in the Indian Premier League. He has led the Yellow Army in all four IPL wins.
