Former Indian Opener Virender Sehwag Picks His Favourites For IPL 2021

IPL 2021 to resume in UAE
The first phase of IPL 2021 was held in India. However, due to rising COVID cases in a few franchises, the event was stopped. After discussions over the next few months, an announcement was made that the event will resume in UAE. IPL 2020 was also held in UAE.
On September 19th, CSK and MI will play the first game of the UAE leg. At the moment, Delhi Capitals is at the top of the points table. CSK, RCB and MI are the other teams in the top half of the table. In terms of the table, there is still sufficient time for a team from the bottom to get into the playoffs.
Sehwag picks his favourites for IPL 2021
The former Indian opener has given his verdict on could win IPL 2021. Speaking to PTI, Virender Sehwag said, "Since the second half has been shifted to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I think Delhi and Mumbai will again be favourites and the five-time champions are slightly ahead."
IPL 2020 was also held in UAE and in that edition, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians emerged as the best two teams. Both franchises met in the final and it was MI who won the title. Hence, Viru felt that since these two teams have already done well in UAE, they will have better chances to win IPL 2021. Moreover, both these squads have a settled XI and there are not too many unavailability or fitness issues in the preferred playing XI.
