Watch: Sarfaraz Khan's wild celebration after scoring yet another century after India's snub

The Ranji Trophy 2021-23 is underway, and many domestic superstars are sweating hard to impress the selectors and get a chance to represent India at the highest level. One such superstar that has scored plenty of runs at the domestic circuit is Mumbai batter Sarafaraz Khan.

The 25-year-old has been scoring runs consistently and was one of the favourites to get a test call for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, which will start in February. However, despite his performance, he was not included in the test squads.

And just a couple days after the squads were announced, the 25-year-old smashed a brilliant century against Delhi in the ongoing Ranji Trophy on Tuesday. Batting first, Mumbai lost their first five wickets for just 110 runs, but after that, Sarfaraz took his team out of trouble and scored an incredible century.

It was his 13th first-class century of his career, and after reaching the milestone, he couldn't control his emotions and looked pumped up. It was Delhi spinner Yogesh who was bowling when he was on 99. He took a single and completed his century. The 25-year-old was very animated in his celebration because he was ignored by the selection committee after scoring heavily.

Mumbai scored 293 runs in their first inning, and Sarafarz made 125 off 155 balls, with 16 fours and four sixes, before getting out to Yogesh Sharma. Meanwhile, the selection committee picked Suryakumar Yadav ahead of Sarfaraz for the first two tests against Australia in the upcoming BGT series.

Suryakumar's ability and skills are undeniable, and he possesses the element of surprise that can win games from any position, but Sarfaraz has consistently performed at the domestic level. Notably, the upcoming BGT is very important for India, as they must win it to qualify for the final of the ongoing World Test Championship. They need to win it by a score of 3-0 or 3-1.
