Gautam Gambhir lashes out on Shahid Afridi after the Pakistani all-rounder questioned his records
On-field rivals, Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi have continued their infamous feud off the field after retirement as the two cricketers do not stop taking jibes at each other. Afridi’s retirement is not clear as the Pakistani all-rounder keeps coming back to the cricket field time and again.
On the other hand, Gambhir has quit all the forms of cricket and joined politics. He has joined BJP and is working actively for the nation in the battle against Coronavirus. The left-handed batsman had also played a leading role for India in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC World Cup victories.
Known as the savior of team India, Gambhir does not own many individual records to his name. However, no one can deny the fact that he is one of the most reliable cricketers of all time. He also was known for his temper and he engaged in a feud with Afridi during the 2007 Kanpur ODI.
Afridi recently released his autobiography ‘Game Changer’ where he has talked about his relation with Gautam Gambhir. The former Pakistani skipper wrote:
“(Gautam Gambhir) and his attitude problem. He, who has no personality. He, who is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. He has no great records, just a lot of attitude. He behaves like he’s a cross between Don Bradman and James Bond,”
Gambhir did not sit silently as he gave Afridi a mouth shutting reply on Twitter. Referring to the ICC T20 World Cup final match between India and Pakistan, the Delhite recollected that he had played a match winning knock for his team whereas Afridi got out for a golden duck.
He wrote:
“Someone who doesn’t remember his age how will he remember my records!OK @SAfridiOfficial let me remind u one: 2007 T20 WC final, Ind Vs Pak Gambhir 75 off 54 balls Vs Afridi 0 off 1 ball. Most imp: We won the Cup. And yes, I’ve attitude towards liars, traitors & opportunists.”

Thus, in this way, Gambhir lashed out on his rival thereby silencing his haters also.
