Glenn Maxwell names his Best IPL XI, Rohit Sharma misses out

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to start from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). After the postponement of ICC Men's T20 World Cup this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the IPL in this window as well. 

However, t cash-rich league has been shifted to the UAE from India because of the rising coronavirus cases in the country. But the entertainment wouldn't be less as the fans will witness their favourite stars in action once again

While speaking about the Australia players, big-hitter Glenn Maxwell, who was bought for a whopping amount of INR 10.75 Crore by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the auction last year, has shared his ‘Best IPL XI’.

He revealed this during his conversation with veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle for a chat show for Cricbuzz. His team has stars like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, AB de Villiers and a few as well.

With 4706 runs to his name, Australia opener David Warner is the highest run-getter amongst foreign players, while Virat Kohli with 5412 runs is the overall leading run-scorer in the league. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) AB de Villiers and Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Suresh Raina, have also been named in his team. However, the Victorian all-rounder has picked himself too.

Apart from them, Glenn Maxwell chose Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) superstar Andre Russell and CSK skipper MS Dhoni for the middle order whereas for the bowling department, he named Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshkumar Kumar and Mohit Sharma alongside the veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh

Bhuvneshwar has taken 133 wickets – sixth-most by any bowler in the tournament. Meanwhile, Bumrah has claimed 82 wickets in 77 matches and Harbhajan with 150 scalps is the third-highest wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League.
