KL Rahul brought out his own version of MS Dhoni's "Helicopter Shot" in 1st practise game vs AUS

India is taking on Australia in their first practise game at the Gabba, Brisbane. Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bowl first, which looked like a batting wicket. India had a good start in the powerplay and both openers added 78 runs in 7.3 overs.

Skipper Rohit Sharma looked a bit rusty and got out after scoring 15 runs off 14 balls with one four and one six. But vice-captain KL Rahul looked in excellent touch and smashed a 27-ball fifty, hitting some incredible shots around the ground.

Rahul came up with a plan to attack the Australian bowlers and he succeeded in his plan. He played some eye-catching shots during his innings. He did, however, demonstrate his full range of shots, and Rahul played a MS Dhoni signature shot off the opposition's best pacer, Pat Cummins.

The 30-year-old played his own version of a helicopter shot to the pacer, which went over the boundary line for a six. But on the very next ball, Cummins bowled a short delivery to the batter, which struck him hard on his helmet.

Batting first, India scored 186/7 in their 20 overs. India's vice-captain made 57 runs off 33 balls with six fours and three sixes. Apart from Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav also scored a half-century. He made 50 off 33 balls, with 6 fours and one six.

Virat Kohli (19 off 13) and Dinesh Karthik (20 off 14) also contributed. For Australia, Kane Richardson bowled well and picked up four wickets. He ended up with a bowling figure of 4/30. After this match, India will lock horns with New Zealand on Wednesday (October 19) at the same venue.

These two games will decide what team combination India will field in their first match on October 23. The Men in Blue are placed in Group 2, with Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and two qualifying teams. India will open their account with a match against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.
