Watch: MS Dhoni hits towering sixes at the nets; starts preparations for IPL 2023
Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League. They are the only team to play nine IPL finals out of 15 seasons, winning four of them. CSK is the second-best IPL team after the Mumbai Indians with five titles.
Although both of these teams had a poor outing in the last season, MI ended last, while CSK ended the tournament in ninth place with only four wins out of 14. Meanwhile, CSK was dealing with a number of other issues, including injuries and a change in captaincy.
But despite all those hurdles, the CSK and management will look to bounce back in the upcoming IPL 2023 with some new and exciting players in their ranks. The franchise roped in English superstar Ben Stokes at the auction for INR 16.25 crore, making him CSK's costliest player in the IPL auction.
He will not play alongside MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja in the middle. The upcoming IPL season is set to start in the last week of March, and the preparation for that has already started. Even CSK skipper MS Dhoni has started his power-hitting training and was seen chancing his arms in the nets.
A video clip is going viral on the internet where MSD is seen hitting some big shots at the nets to prepare for the upcoming IPL season. The video has caught the attention of many fans, and everyone was excited for the IPL to start.

Notably, CSK gave the captaincy role to Jadeja ahead of the start of the last season in 2022. But that decision totally backfired on them as they started poorly. The captaincy duties were returned to MSD in the middle of the tournament, and Jadeja was ruled out due to injury. However, Dhoni will be leading the team this time around, and it might be his last season, so he wants to play in front of his home crowd in Chennai.
