Hanuma Vihari posts a cryptic tweet after missing out on Indian squad for New Zealand Tests

Hanuma Vihari

All-rounder Hanuma Vihari gave everything he had for the country during the third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played earlier this year. Despite being injured, Vihari continued to play in the Sydney Test match and scored 23 runs off 161 deliveries to save the game.

Ultimately, those points proved to be very crucial for Team India as they made it to the inaugural ICC World Test Championship Final. Surprisingly, Vihari has not got a single chance to play Test cricket after that game at SCG.

He has played domestic cricket, but the selectors did not pick him for the upcoming home series against the New Zealand cricket team. The selection committee has given a chance to Shreyas Iyer and retained the duo of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara in the middle-order.

After missing out on a place in the New Zealand Test series team, Hanuma Vihari was added to the India ‘A’ squad that will tour South Africa soon. The reason behind that was the Indian cricket team will play an ICC World Test Championship series against South Africa in December and January. So, it seems the selectors want Vihari to be ready for the overseas Tests.

Hanuma Vihari posted a comma and pinned it on his Twitter profile

After his exclusion from the Indian Test squad, Hanuma Vihari has posted two tweets on his official Twitter profile. The first was a video of a practice session with a caption “....(cricket emoji).” And the second was a comma which was pinned by him on his profile.

You can see the two tweets right here. Many fans have tried to understand the meaning behind the comma that Vihari posted, and one of the fans wrote: “I think it means it's not a full stop of his career. Just a half stop.”
