"He could bring that factor"- Suresh Raina names an Indian star to replicate Yuvraj's 2011 ODI WC performance in 2023 WC
After a 2-1 Border-Gavaskar Trophy win recently, Team India moved to a 50-over action, with the first ODI game played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. India registered a 5-wicket win to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

KL Rahul led India to victory with a brilliant, unbeaten half-century. He scored 75 off 91 balls to guide India to victory. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja also did well in his return match and scored an unbeaten 45 runs along with two wickets.

It will be a great preparation for India on the road to the ODI World Cup, which will be held in India later this year. India will host the mega event in October and November. The last time it took place on Indian soil in 2011, it was MS Dhoni who led India to victory.

That was the last time that India won the World Cup. And it will be another golden chance for India to repeat that magic moment this time around as well. Although India might miss Rishabh Pant, who is undergoing treatment after suffering a car accident.

But still, India will enter the tournament as the top favorite to win the championship. However, former Indian star and 2011 World Cup-winning team member Suresh Raina has shed light on an important area for India going forward in the World Cup. He said that India needs a floater batter who can bowl as well.

In an interview with Sports Tak, he said, "I remember, Viru pa, Yuvi pa, Sachin paaji used to bowl. Yusuf and I as well. I think Deepak Hooda could bring that factor, he can be the floater batter. We saw how Viru pa and Yuvi pa used to bring impact with the ball. It's also easy for the captain when there's a player who can give you 4-5 overs. It gives you a good balance."

Deepak Hooda is a key member in India's T20I squad and has played a handful of ODIs as well. He has been part of 10 ODIs so far and scored 153 runs with three wickets as well. His last ODI game was against New Zealand in 2022 in Christchurch.
