'He is very similar to MS Dhoni"- Chahal reveals the favourite captain he likes to play under

As a result, many former cricketers and cricket pundits have lauded Samson for his captaincy and tactics. Meanwhile, veteran Indian leg-spinner and Samson's RR teammates Yuzvendra Chahal have praised the RR skipper and said that Samson has the same leadership skills as MS Dhoni.

In his latest interview ahead of the Rajasthan Royals' match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday, he said that he had always had the liberty to play according to himself under all three Indian captains like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, which is always the same with these three captains.

Chahal said, "In IPL, Sanju Samson is definitely my favourite. I feel like he is literally very similar to Mahi bhai as like him, he is very calm and chill. The 10 per cent or whatever growth I have had as a bowler in the last year, it is all because of Sanju. He told me, ‘you have four overs, bowl whatever you want to, you are free from my side."

Notably, Chahal was part of the RCB setup for 8 season and was released ahead of the 2022 auction. Then, he was picked up by Rajasthan in the auction and provided as a Trump card in their success last season.

Chahal was the "Purple Cap" holder last season, taking 27 wickets in 17 games. He is also among the top wicket-takers in the ongoing tournament and has picked up 12 wickets in six games. He took two wickets against RCB when they last played each other in 2022.
