Here's why RCB did not retain Yuzvendra Chahal for IPL 2022

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have declared their list of retained and released players ahead of IPL 2022. The Bangalore-based franchise have retained the trio of Mohammed Siraj, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.

Fans were surprised to see the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel and Devdutt Padikkal released ahead of the IPL Auction 2022. Patel was the MVP of the previous season, while Padikkal has been RCB’s find. Both are back in the auction pool.

Chahal was the most successful bowler for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The right-arm leg-spinner had stated in one of his interviews that he wants to retire at RCB, but it seems his ambition may not be fulfilled.

Why did Royal Challengers Bangalore release Yuzvendra Chahal before IPL Auction 2022?

Interestingly, according to reports, Yuzvendra Chahal could not agree with the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a financial deal. Here’s what Times of India reporter K Shriniwas Rao reported on Twitter:

“RCB: VK, Siraj, Maxwell (Yuzi and RCB couldn’t sort out financials).”

Thus Yuzvendra Chahal is now most likely to participate in the IPL Auction 2022. It will be interesting to see if Lucknow or Ahmedabad decide to sign him before the IPL Auction 2022. One thing is for sure, he will be a hot pick at the mega auction.
