Yuvraj Singh to Make his comeback to the Game in a totally new Avatar

India won the 2007 T20I World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni. But one of the prime reasons for these two triumphs was former Indian spin bowling all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, who helped India perform consistently throughout these two iconic tournaments.

However, Yuvraj announced his reitrement from the game of cricket on June 10, 2019. But now he is looking to make his comeback to the game, but in a totally new avatar. The 40-year-old will compete in a celebrity golf tournament, named the "Icons Series," in New York.

This will be the inaugural edition of the tournament that will kick off on June 30 at York’s Liberty National Golf Course. Yuvraj has been drafted along with 23 other celebrities to play in this tournament. He is a member of the World team that will be captained by Ernie Els.

Notably, a few other former cricketers like Ricky Ponting, AB de Villiers, and Brain Lara, along with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and former tennis star Ash Barty, are also part of the World Team. Speaking about the event, the former all-rounder said that he is really excited to join the Icons series and represent India in the Rest of the World Team.

He said, "We already have a team full of great talent and the toughest of competitors, and it’s going to be nice to actually play alongside AB De Villiers, Ricky Ponting, and Brian Lara after years of battling it out in the middle of the cricket field in our own sport."

Speaking of the other team, the second team will be led by former golf legend Fred Couples. It will be called Team USA and it will include some big names like former NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and swimming superstar Michael Phelps.

The event will be held from June 30 to July 1. Every team will have 12 iconic players from the sports industry. Earlier, on June 19, Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech were blessed with a baby boy. They named their son "Orian Keech Singh." The former all-rounder took to Twitter and announced this news.
