"He's the best spinner in the world"- Greame Swann wants India to pick this leg-spinner in rescheduled England Test

England will host India for the multi-format series, starting from June 1. Both teams will start the tour with the fifth and final rescheduled test match. India are leading the five-match series by 2-1 and will look to win this game to win the series.

On the other hand, after an incredible performance by England against New Zealand, they are full of confidence. So it will be a great match to watch. Former English spinner Greame Swann, who was among the best spinners from England, has named one bowler from India that should feature in the test.

In an interview with the Times of India, Swann said that he wants to see the veteran Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the Indian test side. He said that he would discuss it with Chahal and ask him whether he wants to play the red-ball format.

The former spinner also lauded Chahal and said that he is the best spinner in the world right now. He added, "His control, bowling leg-spin in very tricky conditions, especially when that ball gets dew on it and gets wet, is incredible. There isn't a more difficult place to bowl in the evening than in India."

He also pointed out that Chahal is arguably the best white-ball leg-spinner in the current era. However, it demonstrates how certain cricketers have been pigeonholed within the white-ball format. Speaking further on the future of Test cricket, he said that he is hopeful that the way England are playing at the moment will bring change in Test cricket.

Swann said that playing aggressively is best for the betterment of Test cricket. He concluded, " I hope that Baz McCullum's ethos will rub off on the Indian team and other teams around the world. It's a way to get the crowds back in."

Notably, the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, is likely to miss the match after testing Covid positive on Saturday. His availability will depend on his health and the RT-PCR test before the match.
