At the end of the second day of the second test between India and Australia, the hosts are at 184/2 in 63 overs. Kusal Mendis is not out at 84, while Angelo Mathews is at 6. The Sri Lankan skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne, also played really well and scored 86 runs. The home team is trailing by 180 runs with eight wickets left.

Earlier, in the first innings, Australia made 364 runs in 110 overs. Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith scored centuries to help the visitors cross the 350-run mark. Labushagne scored 104 runs, while Smith carried his bat through and played an unbeaten knock of 145* runs.

However, every other Australian batter struggled, apart from the two centurions. Sri Lankan debutant Prabath Jayasuriya looked unplayable and picked up 6 wickets in his first innings of the debut test. He bowled 28 overs in the innings and ended up with a figure of 6/118.

The debutant was so good that even Steve Smith gave him the thumbs up during his innings. It happened when Smith was batting at 81 runs. The left-arm spinner bowled a delivery which turned sharply, which almost took the edge of Smith's bat.

Speaking of the match, the game is evenly posed at the stumps of Day 2. Both teams are looking even and there is not one favorite. For Australia, Mitchell Swepson and Mitchell Starc took one wicket each.

However, it will be interesting to see how the Australian bowlers come on the third day, because at the moment, Sri Lankan batters are looking good.

Australia is leading the two-match series 1-0 and will look to win the second match and whitewash Sri Lanka. On the other hand, the hosts will look to bounce back and win the second match to level the series.
