The second and final Test match between Australia and Sri Lanka is underway at Galle International Stadium. The hosts entered the match trailing 1-0, but this match has totally turned on its head and Sri Lanka are looking to level the series at the current scoreline.

It was Australia that won the toss and chose to bat first. The visitors posted a competitive first innings score of 364 in 110 overs. Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith both scored their centuries. After facing defeat in the first game, not many gave Sri Lanka the chance.

But then, the hosts came hard at the Australian bowlers and, with some useful contributions from the batters, Sri Lanka posted a huge total of 554 runs in 181 overs and got a lead of 190 runs in their first innings. Kusal Mendis (85), Kamindu Mendis (61), Angelo Mathews (52) and skipper Dimuth Karunaratne (86) all reached half-centuries.

But the innings of the match came from the bat of veteran batsman Dinesh Chandimal, who stuck to one end and brought up his maiden double century and also registered the highest score for a Sri Lankan batter against Australia.

He remained unbeaten on 206 runs off 326 balls, including 16 boundaries and five sixes. He reached his double hundred with a six. But the highlight of his innings came on the second ball of the 179th over of the innings, when Mitchell Starc came to bowl to wrap up the tail.

However, Chandimal took advantage of the situation and scored some quick runs. Starc bowled a length ball and the batter, who was looking to add quick runs, saw the opportunity and threw the kitchen sink at it. The ball met the sweet spot on the bat and flew away from the ground.

It landed on the road near the stadium, where a few fans were walking down the road. In fact, the ball hit one of the people over there, who threw it back in the end. However, it was one of the massive sixes ever seen in a cricket match.

Speaking of the match situation, Australia are struggling, having lost their four wickets and with another 90 runs left on the trail. The visitors are at 101/4 with just Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green trying to hold the innings. However, with only four sessions left in the match, this game is heading towards an interesting finish.
