Here's what Jasprit Bumrah said on Virat Kohli's availability for the 2nd ODI vs England

India dominated England in the first ODI match at The Oval on Tuesday, resgistering their biggest win in terms of wickets remaining against the English team. With this, the Men in Blue have carried their dominance into the white-ball leg of the tour. The visitors won the first match by 10 wickets.

It was the first 10-wicket win against England. It started with the toss when Rohit Sharma called it correctly and elected to field first. Both Indian pace bowlers used the overcast swinging conditions to maximum effect, and both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami picked wickets at regular intervals.

Bumrah took six wickets and broke Nehra's record for the best figure against England. He ended up with a bowling figure of 6/19 while Shami picked up 3/31 and became the fastest Indian to reach 150 ODI wickets in 80 matches and third fastest overall.

As a result, the hosts were bowled out for their lowest ODI total against England at 110 in 25.2 overs. In reply, India started steadily, but then they went hard at the English bowlers. Especially the Indian skipper, who looked good and kept pulling the short balls for boundaries. He reached his 45th ODI fifty.

Rohit made 76* off 58 balls, including six fours and five sixes, and also completed 250 ODI sixes, becoming the first Indian and fastest overall to do so in 231 innings. Dhawan also supported him really well and was not out at 31 runs. Both batters completed 5000 runs as a pair and became the fifth pair to do so.

Bumrah was adjudged "Man of the Match" for his 6/19. However, it was a surprise when the team was announced because the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, was not part of the playing XI. Although, just after the squad was announced, the BCCI came up with the reason.

After the match, Bumrah was asked about the return and fitness of Kohli. To that he replied, "I don’t know the status of his injury because I did not play the last game (3rd T20I). Hopefully, he recovers, but I really don’t know the status of his injury."

Both teams will now head to the next match on Thursday, July 14 at Lord's. India has a chance to win it and win the series as well. On the other hand, England will look to bounce back.
