"Bring back Murali Vijay in IPL"- Twitter erupts after Murali Vijay scored a blisteringย 57-ball century in TNPL 2022
The 19th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 saw more than 400 runs scored in 40 overs and two players crossing the 100-run mark. It was a complete run feast and both teams gave their all to make the contest one of the high-scoring thrillers.
It was the game between Nellai Royal Kings and Ruby Trichy Warriors at the NR College Cricket Ground, Coimbatore. However, the match saw one youngster and one veteran playing two incredible innings. It was Ruby Trichy Warriors that won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Nellai Royal had a shaky start and lost their first two wickets for just 29 runs. But what happened next was just amazing. Aparajith and Sanjay Yadav added an unbeaten partnership of 207 runs for the third wicket in just 98 balls. Aparajith missed his century by 8 runs and made 92* off 48 balls, with five fours and eight maximums.
Sanjay made a brilliant century and scored 103* off 55 balls, with six fours and nine maximums. Nellai Royal Kings made 236/2 in 20 overs. It looked like an impossible task to chase. But in reply, one veteran batter stood up and held the chase together.
It was none other than Murali Vijay, who is playing in TNPL after a gap of two years, struck a brilliant century. The chase was on until he was at the crease. But he got out after scoring 121 runs off 66 balls, including 7 fours and 12 maximums and the Trichy Warriors lost the momentum and only scored 170/7.
But it was an incredible innings from the 38-year-old, who played some classic shots to all corners of the globe. Fans also loved to see Murali Vijay at his best and he set the stage on fire. Notably, he is the fourth highest run-getter this TNPL season.

The men's T20 record is held by Aaron Finch (75.10%) - 172 out of AUS's 229/2 vs ZIM in 2018.
Vijay's knock would have been ranked 7th in the list had TNPL been considered as official T20s.#TNPL
