Suryakumar Yadav misses the chance to dethrone Babar Azam from No. 1 T20I rankings, Other Indian players moved up

The latest ICC rankings have been updated. India's "360" batsman Suryakumar Yadav has missed the chance to surpass Pakistan skipper Babar Azam for the No. 1 batsman ranking in T20 internationals. India rested SKY from the fifth and final match against West Indies, which didn't go well in terms of rankings.

India won the five-match series against West India 4-1, and Suryakumar ended as the highest run-scorer in the series. In four matches, he scored 135 runs at an average and strike rate of 33.75 and 168.75, respectively. And because he was rested in the fifth match, he didn't get the chance to dethrone the Pakistan skipper.

Babar is at the top with a rating point of 818, while SKY has lost 11 rating points and is in second place with 805 points. Mohammad Rizwan is in third place with 794 points. These batters will now play in the Asia Cup 2022, so it will be interesting to see who will overtake the rest.

On the other hand, a few other Indian players improved their rankings. Shreyas Iyer, who is not part of the Asia Cup squad, hit an impressive fifty in the fifth match. As a result, he jumped six spots to 19th. Rishabh Pant, who scored 115 runs in the series, jumped seven spots to 59th.

The former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who didn't feature on the West Indies tour, lost one spot and has slipped to 32nd place. The Indian skipper reamined in the 16th spot, but Ishan Kishan, who only played the fifth match and scored 11 runs, slipped one place down to the 15th spot.

KL Rahul has also lost two places and slipped to 25th after missing the series. Speaking of the bowlers, India's young leg-spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, who finished as India's highest wicket-taker with eight wickets, jumped 50 places up to 44th spot.

The likes of Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, and Kuldeep Yadav have also gained and moved up. But the veteran Indian pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, slipped down one place to 9th after finishing with just three wickets.
