Virat Kohli comes up with a cryptic post ahead of SL clash after the "no one except Dhoni" remark

Ahead of the start of the Asia Cup 2022, the biggest concern was the form of the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. But the 33-year-old has made a great comeback and is the leading run-scorer for India in the ongoing tournament and is also the second-leading scorer overall.

He has scored 154 runs in three innings at an average of 77 with two half-centuries. Notably, Virat took one month off ahead of the tournament, and his form is a great sign for India considering the upcoming T20 World Cup.

However, ahead of India's second match of the "super four" stage against Sri Lanka, the former Indian skipper posted a cryptic and philosophical message on his Instagram story, which caught the eyes of everyone.

He wrote, "Notice the people who are happy for your happiness, and sad for your sadness. They’re the ones who deserve places in your heart."

This Instagram post was published the day after Kohli gave a heartfelt press conference after the India-Pakistan match on Sunday, in which he disclosed that it was only MS Dhoni who texted him when he stepped down as Test captain in January of this year.

He said in the press conference that when respect is genuine between the people, it shows automatically, which also shows the security in the relationship. Virat also pointed out that if someone wants to help somebody, he should reach out to that person personally rather than go publically.

The 33-year-old said, "When I left my Test captaincy, only Dhoni called me, nobody else did, even though many had my number."

Virat has performed really well in the ongoing Asia Cup. He played a brilliant 60-run knock against Pakistan on Sunday to help India cross the 180-run mark. He reached his half-century with his signature six over the leg-side boundary.

India must win their remaining two games against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan to qualify for the finals of the tournament. So a lot will depend on his performance as well. India is set to face Sri Lanka on Tuesday at Dubai International Stadium, which is a must-win game for them.
