Here's how England's win over South Africa in 3rd Test has helped India and Pakistan in WTC 2021-23 table

The third and final test match between England and South Africa has ended in the favour of the hosts, who have registered a thumping win over the Proteas by nine wickets at the Kennington Oval, London. The hosts chased down the given target of 130 runs in just 22.2 overs, striking over 6 runs per over.

Both English openers gave their team a flying start, adding 108 runs for the first wicket in 19.5 overs. Alex Lees got out after scoring 39 runs, while Zak Crawley carried on the innings and remained unbeaten on 69* off 57 balls with 12 boundaries.

With this win, England has also won the three-match series 2-1. Notably, they lost the first match within three days of cricket, and after that they won two consecutive games in a similar match duration.

However, this match has certainly changed the table of the World Test Championship and South Africa, who were looking good for the WTC final, have dented their chances after two back-to-back defeats.

Speaking of the WTC cycle 2021-23, Australia are at the top with a winning percentage of 70 and are likely to play the WTC final at Lord's next year. South Africa, on the other hand, is still in second place, but their winning percentage has been harmed by two consecutive losses and now stands at 60%.

South Africa's loss in the second and third tests has certainly given a boost to the three Asian teams, who are next in the table. Sri Lanka is at three and has a winning percentage of 53.33. India and Pakistan are in fourth and fifth place with a winning percent of 52.08 and 51.85, respectively.

The West Indies are not far behind, ranking sixth with 50 percent. The defending WTC champions, New Zealand, have been eliminated from the race, sitting at 8th place with just 25.93 percent. England, who won the second successive series under the leadership of Ben Stokes, are in 7th place with 38.6.

For the fans of India and Pakistan, they have still got a legit chance to make it to the WTC finals. But for that, they must win all their remaining games and one defeat will make their path impossible. Both teams have still got a margin of one draw but even two draw matches will shut the curtain downs for them.
