Shubman Gill was one of the reasons that Gujarat Titals won the TATA IPL 2022. Gujarat became only the second team to win the IPL in their debut season. Gill also played an important knock in the low-scoring final. But a cryptic Twitter exchange between the franchise and the 23-year-old has raised many eyebrows.

The rumours of Gill leaving the franchise have been sparked. The franchise shared a tweet with the caption, "It's been a journey to remember. We wish you all the best for your next endeavour, @ShubmanGill!"

The batter also replied to that with a hug and heart emoji. It instantly gathered the attention of the fans, and Gill became the talk of the town. Some fans believe that it is some kind of prank from the franchise.

The young opener was signed by the Gujarat Titans for INR 8 crore in the 2020 auction. Earlier, he played for two-time champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, who didn't retain him. And he ended the 2022 season with five of the highest run-getters in the tournament.

Gill scored 483 runs in 16 innings at an average of 34.50 and a strike rate of 132.32. He also scored four half-centuries, with a high score of 96 runs. The 23-year-old also helped his team chase down the target of 131 runs in the 19th over of the final in front of their home crowd in Gujarat.

He finished the game with a six off Obed McCoy in the fifth ball of the 19th over. However, the Twitter exchange between him and the franchise has definitely sparked a debate among the fans. A couple of days ago, veteran batsman Robin Uthappa announced his retirement.
