Unstoppable Babar Azam broke another massive record of Virat Kohli with a brilliant century in 2nd T20 vs ENG

The second T20I between Pakistan and England at Karachi National Stadium saw a record-breaking night in the game of cricket. On Thursday, Pakistan locked horns with England in the second game of the seven-match T20I series, which ended with a thumping win for the hosts.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam answered his critics with an incredible century in the match to register a 10-wicket win over the visitors chasing the target of 200. He, along with Mohammad Rizwan, made a record first wicket partnership of 203 runs to chase down the target.

It was the second century for Babar in T20 internationals, and he made his comeback in a brilliant fashion after a horrible Asia Cup, where Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka in the final. He smashed 11 fours and five maximums in his innings to level the series at 1-1 for his team.

Pakistan reached the target with all wickets in hand and three balls to spare. On the other hand, Rizwan was equally good with the bat and remained unbeaten on 88* off 51 balls with five fours and four sixes. Notably, during his century, Babar broke one record of the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli.

He went past Virat and became the second fastest batsman in history to reach 8000 international runs. Virat took 243 innings to reach the milestone, while the Pakistani skipper did it in 218 innings. Chris Gayle is the fastest, who took 213 innings to reach 8000 international runs.

Babar also surpassed Australian captain Aaron Finch (2877 runs) and is now the fifth highest T20I run-getter with 2895 runs in 82 games. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (3631), Virat Kohli (3586) and Martin Guptill (3497) are in first, second and third spots respectively.

Speaking about his knock, the Pakistan skipper said, "I always had the belief and you need that as a sportsman. The team always supported me and kept backing me."
