India scripts World Record with a win in 3rd T20 vs Australia, surpasses Pakistan

India pulled off a great chance in the third and final T20I against Australia in Hyderabad on Sunday to win the three-match series 2-1. It was a great win for the Men in Blue and the victory came in the very last over of the innings.

India won by six wickets and registered a massive record in T20 international history. Well, it started with the toss, and India won the toss and put Australia to bat first. The visitors got a really good start with Cameron Green scoring a 19-ball fifty to give their team a rocking start.

Green scored 52 off 21 balls, with seven fours and three sixes. But Australia did struggle in the middle and lost some wickets. But Tim David scored his first fifty for Australia and made 54 off 27 balls to help his team reach a competitive total of 186/7 in 20 overs.

In reply, India tumbled at the start and lost both openers for 30 runs in 3.4 overs. But after that, it was a complete carnage from Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli. Both added 104 runs in 62 balls for the third wicket to put India in the driver's seat.

SKY scored a 29-ball fifty and made 69 off 36 balls, including five boundaries and five maximums, and got out. But Virat carried on till the last over and made 63 off 48 balls, with three fours and four sixes. India needed 11 runs off the last over and Virat started the over with a six off the first ball to make it five off five.

The former Indian skipper got out at the very next ball, trying to hit another boundary. Then, India looked a bit confused, but a lucky outside edge of Hardik's bat sealed the deal for India. The Men in Blue won the match by six wickets and also the series.

With this win, India surpassed Pakistan and became the team with the most T20I wins in a single year. India has now won 21 matches in 2022 as compared to Pakistan's 20 in 2021. However, India has tied with Thailand's women with 21 wins and four losses in 2019. They need one more win to become the most successful team in T20I.
