"Give any medicine or injection, but get me match ready"- Suryakumar Yadav discusses about suffering from pain and fever ahead of 3rd T20 vs AUS

India registered an amazing chase in the third T20 against Australia in Hyderabad on Sunday. It ended in a close finish and the hosts held their nerve to pull off a great victory to win the series 2-1. The hero of the match was India's 360, Suryakumar Yadav.

SKY played yet another blinder of an innings and scored his 7th T20I fifty off just 29 balls to bring India to the track. He added a 104-run partnership with the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli to put India in a strong position.

The batter scored 69 off just 36 balls, including five fours and five sixes, while Virat ended up with 63 off 48 balls. India chased down the target of 187 runs with six wickets in hand. Thus, SKY was also named the "Man of the Match" for his brilliant innings.

However, after the match, the 32-year-old revealed that he had been having stomach pains and a fever ahead of the match. In a discussion with Axar Patel after the win, he said that he asked the physio and team doctor to give him a medicine or an injection but to make him ready to play.

In a video shared by the BCCI on their official Twitter handle, both players were seen talking about the game. When asked about the preparation prior to the match, SKY replied that he got fever due to climate change and travelling, but because it was a series decider, he asked his medical team to give him anything and make him match ready.

The star batter said, "I told the doctor and physio if this is the World Cup final, how would I react? I cannot stay sick like this. Do anything, give me any medicine or injection, but get me ready for the game. After reaching the ground and wearing the jersey, there is a different emotion."

SKY has been the best batter for India in the series. He is the leading run-getter for the hosts with 115 runs at an incredible strike rate of 185.48. India will now lock horns with South Africa in three T20Is and three ODIs starting from September 28.
