"Smith has done what Virat hasn't"- Ex-Pak legend and batting coach Mohammad Yousuf's bold claim comparison of Virat-Smith

The game of cricket has given some of the biggest names in the world, who have dominated this game worldwide. However, when we talk about some modern-day greats, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith are certainly among the best in the current generation.

The former India skipper has dominated in all three formats. On the other hand, Smith is unbeatable in the longest format, with an incredible Test average of over 60 in 87 matches, along with 28 centuries. He has also gained the second highest rating points in the history of test cricket after Sir Don Bradman.

Smith reached his career high of 947 rating points in December 2017, while Kohli has certainly dominated white-ball cricket more. He has scored the second-highest centuries in ODI cricket and is also the joint-highest century maker (71) in the game with former Australian captain Ricky Ponting.

Well, the 33-year-old is also the fastest player to reach the 10000-ODI run mark, while in red-ball cricket, he has scored 27 hundreds in 102 games with an average of almost 50. The numbers suggest that these two are the icons of modern-day cricket in their own way.

And both of these are also part of the unofficial 'Fab 4' in the world, along with New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and former English skipper Joe Root. However, former Pakistan legend and current batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has shared his view on these two with his choices.

In a discussion on the YouTube channel, Cricket Pakistan, he was asked about who is the better batsman between Virat and Smith. He said that Smith has already performed in an excellent way that Kohli hasn't.

He said, "I don't really enjoy Steve Smith's batting, but the way he has performed in Test cricket... he is second only to Sir Donald Bradman in terms of Test rankings as well as average. The way he is performing, I don't think Virat Kohli has performed on a similar level in Test cricket."

Notably, after a rough patch for almost three years, Virat showed some glimpses of his form in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. He also scored that all-important 71st international century after 1020 days. On the other hand, Smith is also doing well for Australia consistently.
