"The finalists are...."- Mithali Raj makes bold predictions for T20 WC finalists

The ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia is heating up nicely after two weeks of the "Super 12" stage. Both groups have a few teams that are fighting for a place in the semi-finals. In Group 1, New Zealand is looking quite likely to qualify for the semis.

But for the second spot, the fight is pretty intense between England and the defending champions, Australia. England have three points from three games, with two games left against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. They need to win both their remaining games in order to qualify for the next round.

On the other hand, Australia is sitting in second place with 5 points and one game left against Afghanistan. If they win that game, then their points go to seven, but then the NRR will come into play.

While in Group 2, South Africa and India are looking at two teams to make it to the next round. But nothing can be said, and in this game, anything is possible. Many former cricketers and analysts have predicted their four semi-final teams.

Now former Indian women's cricketer Mithali Raj has also come up with her four teams that will make it to the next round. In a discussion on Star Sports, Raj also picked two teams that would make it to the finals of the competition.

She said, "My predictions for semi-final spot, that is four spots will be India and South Africa from Group 2. From Group 1, it will be New Zealand and a toss-up between England and Australia. And the finalists, there is no doubt, India has to be there, and New Zealand."

Notably, New Zealand needs to win one of their remaining two games to qualify for the next round. On the other hand, India has a task on its hands. They will face Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in their next games, so they need to win both teams to avoid any tricky situations.

But if they lose any one of the games or any one of those games gets washed out due to rain, then India will need to depend on the result of other teams in their group.
