MI & CSK submit retention lists; MI releases another big name while CSK has also taken decision on Ravindra Jadeja
The mini-auction for the IPL 2023 is scheduled to take place in Kohli on December 23. Thus, all 10 teams need to submit the list of their retained and released players by the end of November 15 to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
However, two of the most successful teams in IPL history have come up with lists of released and retained players. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have submitted the complete list to the BCCI ahead of the mini-auction next month.
These two teams have made some big decisions ahead of the upcoming season. Former West Indian captain Kieron Pollard, who has served the Mumbai Indians for over a decade, has been released by the five-time champions. Notably, the veteran all-rounder was one of four retained players ahead of the 2022 auction.
Earlier, MI had released the Pandya brothers, which came as a surprise to many. On the other hand, the four-time champions, Chennai Super Kings, have retained star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, while they have decided to let go of Chris Jordan, Adam Milne, and Mitchell Santner, which shows that they will be looking for some other overseas players in the mini-auction.
Apart from Pollard, MI has also released Fabin Allen and Tymal Milles. Notably, Pollard joined the franchise in 2010, and since then, he has been part of the team. However, he wasn't able to perform in the last edition.
As per the reports from Zee 24 Taas, it has been learned that MI and CSK have submitted their lists, respectively. However, both teams didn't have the same season last time as they would have liked. Both teams won only four matches last season. Thus, they would like to do better in the upcoming season.
