How Mohammed Amir could play in IPL in future
Mohammed Amir shocked the entire cricket universe by suddenly announcing his retirement from international cricket. Amir is only 28 years old right now. He has seen many ups and downs in his cricket career.
In 2010, Amir received a 5-year ban from international cricket because of his involvement in the match-fixing scandal. Apparently, Amir charged money for deliberately bowling no balls in the Test series against England. Later, he made his return to the team and made an immediate impact.
Mohammed helped Pakistan get off to great starts with the ball. The Indians will never forget his spell from the Asia Cup 2016 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final. Amir destroyed the Indian lineup, handing Pakistan their first major ICC trophy after a long time in 2017.
Unfortunately, the team management did not manage his workload properly. Ultimately, Amir had to quit Test cricket. He still continued to play for his country in the other two formats. However, Mohammed felt that the backroom staff did not understand his requirements.
The left-arm pacer bowls quick and troubles the batsmen with his swing. However, he also had a few injuries. Amir asked for rest from the international arena. Soon, the selectors axed him from the squad. This decision disappointed Amir and he quit all forms of global cricket.
It is pertinent to note Amir played for the Galle Gladiators in Lanka Premier League. Next month, he will play for the Pune Devils in the T10 League.
Soon, he could even play in the IPL just like Azhar Mahmood. Some reports claimed that Mohammed Amir tried hard to get a British passport in 2019. His wife has a British connection. So, he can settle there if he wants. Ultimately, like Mahmood, he can enter IPL as a British player. Thus, fans can even get to see Virat Kohli and Amir in one team!
