India's best left-handed T20 XI right now

Left Handers India

A few years ago, India had trouble finding left-handed cricketers, be it with the bat or the ball. However, right now, there is no scarcity for this. In all the departments, India has good depth in this category. In this era of matchups, this is extremely beneficial. On that note, here, we take a look at India's best left-handed T20 XI right now.

Note: We have included only players whose primary role is left-handed.

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan (C) and Yashasvi Jaiswal

Backups: Devdutt Padikkal and Abhishek Sharma

Shikhar Dhawan will lead India's best left-handed T20 XI right now. Of course, Dhawan and Jaiswal be in this squad as the openers. Despite his age, Dhawan is keeping pace with the demands of this era. He is still doing well and Yashasvi Jaiswal could be the next player who could land a spot in the Indian Team, courtesy of his performances in the IPL and for Team India.

Middle-Order: Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan (WK) and Rinku Singh

Backups: Nitish Rana

It is heartening to note that India now has brilliant middle-order left-handed batters. Tilak Varma started out as a top-order cricketer but he has done well in the middle-order in IPL. Ishan Kishan's best phase in IPL has come as a middle-order batter while Rinku Singh is slowly gaining a reputation as a finisher in the lower middle-order. Nitish Rana has played for Team India but did not get a long stint. Nevertheless, if he picks up some form, he can be a contender to get a spot in Team India.

All-Rounders: Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja

Backups: Venkatesh Iyer, Krunal Pandya, Shahbaz Ahamad and Washington Sundar

Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja will be the all-rounders in India's best left-handed T20 XI right now. In this department, India has always had sufficient depth. In the white-ball formats, it may not be a surprise if Axar is preferred ahead of Jaddu for Team India. Washington Sundar is also a name that can demand a place in this category. However, for now, it will be Axar and Jadeja who will dominate in this department as both have good skills and are also experienced.

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav

Backups: T Natarajan, Mohsin Khan
It is this department that needs urgent attention and thankfully, India has quite a few options right now. While Arshdeep Singh will cement his spot in the T20 squad for a few months, Khaleel also has the skills to return to Team India. Kuldeep Yadav has been picking wickets regularly off-late and will be in the ODI and T20I setups.
