The Indian cricket team has made a remarkable comeback in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, recording back-to-back wins in the Super 12 round. The Men in Blue suffered defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two matches, but now they have the best net run rate in the group after big wins against Afghanistan and Scotland.

The Virat Kohli-led outfit opened its account in the standings by registering a 66-run victory against the Afghanistan cricket team at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Earlier tonight, they thrashed Scotland by eight wickets.

For the first time in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, the Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. The decision proved to be an excellent one because the Indian bowlers bowled Scotland out for just 85 runs.

Mohammed Shami bowled a fiery spell of 3/15, while Ravindra Jadeja registered identical figures as well. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets between themselves, while Safyaan Sharif got run in the Scottish innings.

KL Rahul then brought his ‘A’ game to the table and smashed 50 runs off just 19 deliveries. Rohit Sharma supported him with a 16-ball 30. The Indian openers departed before the match ended, but they made sure that the Indian cricket team won the match in just 6.3 overs.

Now after this win, India just need to hope that Afghanistan beat New Zealand. India now have the best net run rate in the group. So, if Afghanistan beat New Zealand by a close margin, both will have 6 points with inferior net run rate. Finally, India will have to defeat Namibia by any margin and they will finish above New Zealand and Afghanistan. So, we will know India’s fate on November 7 when Afghanistan take on New Zealand.
