Irfan Pathan seemingly takes an indirect dig at MS Dhoni in his latest tweet
Irfan Pathan has regularly taken jibes at MS Dhoni on social media. The fans had noted his tweets indirectly pointing towards Dhoni during IPL 2020. After the Indian cricket team’s historic win against Australia, Pathan posted another tweet that seemingly was an indirect dig at MS Dhoni.
Irfan Pathan has retired from all forms of cricket now. However, he played for the Indian Legends team in the Road Safety World Series. Also, he represented the Kandy Tuskers in the 2020 Lanka Premier League.
On the other side, MS Dhoni has retired from international cricket, but he has been playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. During IPL 2020, Pathan was a commentator and at times, he questioned Dhoni’s fitness level on Twitter.
Recently, the fans credited Rahul Dravid for grooming the youngsters who performed well in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Although they did not have much experience of playing international cricket, the young Indian side beat the experienced Aussies and ended their 32-year unbeaten streak in Test matches at The Gabba.
Dravid stated that it was not his coaching but also the players’ talent that helped India win the Test series. However, fans still thank Rahul a lot for building India’s new generation cricketers.
Referring to it, Irfan Pathan wrote on Twitter that Dravid received so much credit only because he did not crave for it. Here is his tweet.

In the comments box of this Twitter post, many fans of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli were disappointed with Irfan Pathan’s words. Some fans pointed out how Dhoni selflessly gave the trophy to the debutant or the youngster in the squad to make him feel special. Some fans even felt this was a jibe hinting towards Kohli. But Irfan did not name anyone. Some cricket fans backed Irfan Pathan’s views.
Thus, Pathan’s latest tweet has gained a lot of attention. However, it is unlikely MS Dhoni or Rahul Dravid would respond to this tweet.
