Irfan Pathan takes an indirect dig at MS Dhoni after his performance against SRH in IPL 2020
After a heartbreaking loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous match, the Chennai Super Kings will cross paths with the Kings XI Punjab on Sunday night in IPL 2020. The fans were left heartbroken seeing the CSK captain struggle the way he did in the last match.
MS Dhoni seemingly got tired playing for so long in the humid conditions. He had earlier said that the quarantine had had a huge impact on his mindset as a batsman. However, one should understand that he also keeps the wickets for his team.
Dhoni first kept the wickets for 20 overs last night and then batted a long inning against the Orange Army. The fans should note that a 22-year-old Ishan Kishan got extremely tired after the grueling match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore the other night.
Similarly, MS Dhoni surrendered to the humid conditions and the fans backed him despite his failure to finish off the match. Dhoni has one of the most loyal fan-bases in cricket history. Hence, they have pointed out that the right-handed batsman does not deserve criticism for his below-par performance.
On the other side, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has taken an indirect jibe at those fans by posting a cryptic tweet from his Twitter handle. Here’s what the southpaw wrote:
Age is just a number for some and for others a reason to be dropped...

Irfan Pathan was dropped because of the age factor only. He has not had the best relationship with MS Dhoni. The cricket universe might know that when he was a part of the Chennai Super Kings and the Rising Pune Supergiant, Pathan performed decently in the limited opportunities that he received. Still, he was dropped and ultimately had to become a commentator. Thus, he posted this cryptic message.
