"Itna pitch mat dekho, cricket khelo"- Rohit Sharma shuts down non-sense pitch talks for 1st test
India is all set to lock horns with Australia in the first of the four-match Border-Gavaskar series, starting on Thursday in Nagpur. And ahead of the series opener, the pitch to be used in the game has caught the attention of many.

The Australian media has made many claims about the pitch, claiming it will assist the Indian spinners against the Australian left-handers. Notably, Australia has five lefties in their batting order.

According to the Australian media, the pitch in Nagpur has been watered only in the center, leaving the left side dry. However, amid all those statements, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has shut down the talks in his style and asked everyone to focus on the match and not on the pitch.

On Wednesday, Rohit addressed the media conference. He said that both teams have 11 quality players each and are out to win. When asked about the pitch in Nagpur, he said that every batter has his own style of playing against the spin, and on such pitches, you need to adjust.

Rohit said, "Itna Pitch mast Delhi, cricket khelo. After all 22 guys out there are all quality. It is important to have a plan and figure a way. Everyone has a different method. You need to rotate strike and sometimes you need to counterattack.

Furthermore, Rohit added that the upcoming series is a big one in the context of the qualification for the World Test Championship final, so you need to prepare well. The Indian skipper hinted at the possible playing XI for India and said that they would take some brave calls.

Australia is at the top of the WTC table, while India is second on the list. The hosts need a 3-0 or 3-1 series win over Australia to qualify for the WTC final which will be played in England later this year.
