Royal Challengers Bangalore’s massage therapist Navnita Gautam has been in the news after the IPL 2021 match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders. The reason behind it is her interaction with Kyle Jamieson during the game that has gone viral on the internet.

Many meme pages have posted photos of their interaction. Meanwhile, an old interview that Navnita Gautam has resurfaced, where she had spoken about working as a massage therapist for the male athletes.

Not many fans would know that Navnita Gautam is the first-ever female support staff member in the history of the Indian Premier League. She was appointed back in the year 2019. Before joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Navnita had worked with the Toronto Nationals team in Global T20 Canada as well as the Indian women’s basketball team for Asia Cup.

During an interview with ESPNCricinfo in 2019, Navnita was asked if she had any apprehensions of working with the male athletes. To this question, Navnita replied:

“Absolutely not. It’s like having 20 brothers around at all times. Slowly but surely, the transition is happening. I believe that as long as the players and support staff trust your work, gender shouldn’t be an issue as we are all healthcare professionals working together as a team to get athletes back on the field.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be in action tomorrow night against the Chennai Super Kings

Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a horrible start in the United Arab Emirates leg of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Virat Kohli-led outfit scored only 92 runs after winning the toss and electing to bat first against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi.

The RCB franchise will face a tough challenge from CSK in their next match. The game will begin tomorrow at 7:30 PM IST.
