KL Rahul explains the reason behind his celebration

KL Rahul has finally revealed the reason behind his unique celebration on the field after accomplishing a milestone. Rahul batted at number four in the second ODI against England today and celebrated with his trademark style after touching the three-figure mark.

The fans have even seen Indian all-rounder Rahul Tewatia celebrate in the same manner during the IPL 2020 season for the Rajasthan Royals. It seems like Rahul does not care about what others say, but the wicket-keeper clarified he did not mean any disrespect to anyone with that celebration.

Here’s what Rahul had to say after scoring a century in the 2nd ODI against the England cricket team in Pune:

“It (the celebration) is just to shut out the noise, not to disrespect anyone. There are people out there who try to pull you down, at times you need to neglect them. So that’s just a message to shut out that noise.”

It is pertinent to note that this is not the first time KL Rahul celebrated in this fashion. He has done in the past as well. Meanwhile, famous footballer Philippe Coutinho also has a similar way to celebrate his success on the football field.

KL Rahul reflects on India’s batting performance in the 1st innings

KL Rahul was satisfied with the way India batted in the first innings at the MCA Stadium. The Indian cricket team got off to a slow start but half-centuries from Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and a hundred by KL Rahul guided them to 336/6 in 50 overs.

Here’s what Rahul commented on Team India’s first innings performance:

“I was disappointed after the T20 series, but that’s how the game goes. Few quality shots eased my nerves. Really happy I was able to build those partnerships with Virat and Rishabh. When me and Virat were batting, we needed anything around 300, so happy with this total.”
