Kolkata Knight Riders rope in former India bowling coach Bharat Arun
In an official announcement through its official handles, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders have announced the appointed of former India bowling coach Bharat Arun as the team's bowling coach for the upcoming season.
With less than a month left for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Kolkata Knight Riders have announced the appointment of former Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun as the bowling coach.
Bharat Arun most recently worked as the Indian cricket team's bowling coach from 2014, till the most recently till the T20 World Cup 2021.
Bharat Arun played a key role in making sure the Indian bowling attack is known as the world's one of the top bowling attack that consists of the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj.
Bharat Arun started as his coaching career with the Tamil Nadu team in the Indian domestic scenes, after which, he was made the chief bowling coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He was the bowling coach of the Indian team that won the 2012 U19 World Cup.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), owned by the famous Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan, based out of Kolkata in West Bengal, is the 2 time IPL champion having won it in 2012 and in 2014 under Gautam Gambhir's captaincy.
KKR is known for its youth oriented set-up. During which they won the IPL, they had a lot of unknown faces in squad and use to give opportunity to youngsters. However, the story has complete different past couple of years, as such, they haven't won the IPL after 2014.
KKR had some top bowlers in their squad last year, the likes of Prasidh Krishna, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Lockie Ferguson and Pat Cummins to name a few. Bharat Arun will be looking to assemble a top bowling attack during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
