In a heartbreaking development for all the fans of the Kolkata Knight Riders team, the squad’s left-arm wrist spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav has reportedly been ruled out of the competition because of an injury.

According to PTI, the Kolkata Knight Riders star has already returned from the United Arab Emirates. He sustained a knee injury during a practice session of the Kolkata Knight Riders during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League.

On the condition of anonymity, a top BCCI official informed PTI earlier today:

"Yes, we got the information that Kuldeep sustained a nasty knee injury during a practice session in UAE. Apparently while fielding, he twisted his knee and it was really bad at that point. There was no chance that he could have taken any further part and was sent back to India,"

Another source stated that knee injuries generally take more time. Thus, Kuldeep Yadav could even miss a few matches of the Ranji Trophy competition scheduled to happen in 2021-22.

Recently, Kuldeep Yadav posted a photo with KKR’s Brendon McCullum, but according to sources, it is an old photo.

“That''s obviously an old photograph. Kuldeep has come back in India. If I am not wrong, he is already done with his surgery," the source told PTI.

Kuldeep Yadav did not get a single game in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League

Kuldeep Yadav is one of the top spinners in India right now. However, he did not get even one match during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League.

The Kolkata Knight Riders kept him on the bench in all the matches they played so far. It seems likely that the left-arm wrist-spinner will be released ahead of IPL 2022 Mega Auction. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
