The hero of West Indies’ T20 World Cup 2016 semi final victory against the Indian cricket team, Lendl Simmons recently selected his all-time T20 XI. He picked some of the best players to have played in the shortest format of the game. However, Simmons did not have a place for his former Mumbai Indians teammate Lasith Malinga in the team.

The two openers that Lendl Simmons selected were the men who he has shared the dressing room with. Veteran West Indies all-rounder Chris Gayle will open the innings for the team along with Simmons’ former Mumbai Indians teammate Rohit Sharma.

The next three names in the team are Virat Kohli, Kieron Pollard and AB de Villiers. Kohli has been excellent for India in the shortest format of the game and scored runs consistently for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

AB de Villiers was an asset for South Africa and Royal Challengers Bangalore during his playing days. However, the former South African captain has now quit all formats of cricket.

Kieron Pollard is the current captain of the West Indies T20I team. He plays for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. His compatriot Dwayne Bravo is also present in the playing XI.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni will lead this team and also keep the wickets. Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine are the lead spinners of this team, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada complete the team.

Some fans were surprised that players like Lasith Malinga, Andre Russell and Jasprit Bumrah did not find a place in the team. Here is the all-time T20 XI that Lendl Simmons selected.
