Mayanti Langer's latest Instagram story: A suggestion or a troll?

Mayanti Langer has confused fans with her latest Instagram story. The cricket host did this by using a throwback picture on Instagram. This was after India suffered an innings defeat to England at Leeds.

Team India loses heavily to England

After the stunning victory at the Lord's, expectations were high from Team India at Leeds. However, after getting all-out for just 78 runs in the first innings, Virat Kohli's men had to endure an early jolt. A poor bowling display followed, and although the batsmen started the second innings confidently, a collapse brought them back to the hole. Eventually, England defeated India by an innings and 76 runs to draw level in the series.

Mayanti Langer uses a throwback picture without context

Earlier today, popular sports host Mayanti Langer posted a picture on her Instagram story that drew many conversations. Her post included the photo of her husband Stuart Binny in whites, and next to him is James Anderson, apparently frustrated at the events.

It could be a reference to Binny's second-innings knock at Trent Bridge back in 2014. He scored 78 runs in that game and helped India draw the game. Binny also did well against James Anderson in that encounter.

In the recent game between India and England, it was Anderson's early burst that set the tone for the game. He took four wickets in the entire game, but in the first session of Day 1, he had taken three crucial scalps, which eventually set up the win for the Englishmen.

Not only in this game but in the previous games as well, India has struggled against Anderson. Mayanti Langer could have possibly been referring to Stuart's memorable performance in the tough conditions in England.

Another reason behind it could be Mayanti possibly offering a suggestion to include a pace-bowling all-rounder like Binny. Or else, it could just be a throwback memory post of her husband's highest score in Test cricket. It would be wrong to make assumptions without context.
