MS Dhoni shatters World Record in T20s; writes his name in record books with stunning glovework
The Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 29th game of the 2023 Indian Premier League at the Chepauk Stadium. It was a homecoming for MS Dhoni and his team after registering a nail-biting sin in a high-scoring clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

CSK were too good for Aiden Markram and his men and registered a comprehensive win by seven wickets. With this win, the four-time champions have continued their dominance over SRH, as they have never lost to SRH at home.

MS Dhoni has led the team brilliantly this season. CSK is currently in third place with four wins out of six and a NRR of +0.355. Meanwhile, the CSK skipper has broken yet another record and registered a new world record in the shorter format of the game.

Dhoni has now registered the most number of catches in T20 history as a wicketkeeper, going past Quinton de Kock. Prior to the game against SRH, both Dhoni and De Kock were tied with 207 catches in the shorter format. Dhoni caught SRH skipper Aiden Markram off the bowling of spinner Maheesh Theekshana to go past De Kock.

Notably, the CSK skipper is not the only Indian in the top five. RCB's veteran wicketkeeper, Dinesh Karthik, is only three catches behind MSD on this list. Dhoni has 208 catches, followed by De Kock (207) and DK (205).

Not just the catch, Dhoni also had a lighting stumping and a brilliant run-out in the game and was directly involved in all three dismissals. Speaking of the game, SRH struggled against the disciplined bowling of Chennai and managed only 135/7 in the first inning.

Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers with 3/22. Chasing the target, Chennai got off to a brilliant start with an 87-run opening stand between Ruturaj Gaikwad (35 off 30) and Devon Conway in just 11 overs. Conway remained unbeaten on 77 off 57 with 12 fours and one six to lead his team to 7-wicket win.
