Mumbai Indians added England's death specialist to strengthen the bowling attack for remainder of the IPL 2023
The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is in full swing, with each team having played half of their group games. The second half of the tournament has started, with every team fighting for a place in the playoffs.

The five-time champion Mumbai Indians have been struggling to get going. After finishing the last season at the bottom, it looked like MI is finding it hard to put their feats on the winning path. They are currently sitting in ninth place with three wins from seven games and a NRR of -0.620.

However, the franchise has made a big move ahead of the second half of the tournament. They have added veteran English pacer Chris Jordan to the squad for the second leg of the tournament. MI has added him as a replacement, but it is unknown who he is replacing on the team.

Notably, the five time champion is struggling in their pace bowling department, where they have leaked runs in the death overs, which has become the reason for the losses in the last two games. Thus, the inclusion of Jordan can address that area.

The English speedster is known as a death specialist and is a key member of the English white-ball squad. Though the official statement for Jordan joining the team is yet to come, he was seen training in MI kit with the other members.

Meanwhile, there is no update on the injury to Jofra Archer. Some reports circulated earlier this week that the pacer went to Belgium to consult the specialist. He was not even part of MI's last game against the Gujarat Titans.

On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians will host the Rajasthan Royals in the 1000th IPL game on Sunday. Both teams have had contrasting performances so far. MI is ninth on the table, while Sanju Samson and his team are second on the points table and will look to win and move to the top spot.
