Murali Vijay reacts to CSK playoff qualification in IPL 2021

Former Chennai Super Kings batter Murali Vijay has expressed his joy over CSK's playoff qualification in IPL 2021. CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad on 30th September at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium to become the first team in IPL 2021 to secure a spot in the playoffs.

CSK have been brilliant this season as they stand first in the points table with 18 points. They have managed to win nine out of their 11 games and are a top contender for the IPL title. IPL 2021 has been a turnaround for the CSK, who came into this season after a poor IPL 2020.

CSK were the first team to get eliminated in the last season. However, they have bounced back in style by playing an exceptional piece of cricket. They have been receiving praises from all around the cricketing fraternity including praise from their former opening batter Murali Vijay.

Vijay took to his twitter to express his joy for the men in yellow. "This feeling called #CSk", tweeted Vijay. CSK weren't late to respond to this lovely tweet by Vijay as the replied by stating a mutual relation between the team and Vijay. "This #Yellove is MU-tual Yellow heart," commented CSK.


Murali Vijay's performance for CSK in IPL

Murali Vijay was a dependable opening batter for the men in yellow. Vijay was picked up by CSK ahead of IPL 2009 for INR 1.2 million. He didn't get to feature much in that season but made a name for himself in IPL 2010. Vijay hammered 458 runs that season in 15 games at a strike rate of above 150 to help CSK clinch their maiden IPL title. In addition, he went on to score 434 runs in the following season and once gain played a major role in CSK's second consecutive IPL victory.

Since the, he racked up runs on a consistent basis until 2013 edition as he later plied his trade for Delhi and Punjab. CSK, then roped him in once again ahead of IPL 2018 but he didn't get game time to prove himself.
