"My dream has been fulfilled" Avesh Khan reacts to getting selected for New Zealand T20 Series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian cricket team squad that will play New Zealand in the upcoming T20 series. Star performers from the IPL 2021 has also been called-up, among which, one is the pace bowler Avesh Khan.

The young Indian fast bowler has received his maiden call up to represent India in his career and might make his debut as well for India. Reacting to being selected for the Indian team for the New Zealand, he said that his dream of playing in India blue jersey is now fulfilled.

The Madhya Pradesh cricketer joined PTI Bhasha for an interaction after being picked for the New Zealand T20 series.

He stated that every players desire to play for India for he worked hard to fulfill his dream.

The 24 year old right-arm fast bowler also believes that his performance in the Indian Premier League 2021 season as well as performance in the domestic circuit played a huge role in him being called up for the New Zealand T20 series.

Avesh Khan in IPL 2021

The right-arm fast bowler played for the Delhi Capitals in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played a total of 16 matches and picked up 24 wickets in the IPL 2021. 

He continued his IPL form into the domestic cricket as well, as the Madhya Pradesh bowler has picked up 9 wickets in 5 matches.

India vs New Zealand T20 Series

The Indian cricket team announced for the New Zealand T20 series, sees a number of Indian regular players getting rest, including the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah.

While, after Virat Kohli announced before the T20 World Cup 2021 that he will be stepping down as India's T20 captain following the end of the tournament, Rohit Sharma has been named the new Indian T20 captain.
