Predicting The Playing XI Of CSK For IPL 2021

All eyes were on Chennai Super Kings as they made their way to IPL 2021 Auctions. The three-time champions had a forgettable campaign last season, and hence, the focus was on them to set things straight. The first step was to do well at the auctions, and it seems CSK has done a fine job of it. They targeted certain players and ensured that they got them. A few purchases like that of Pujara's will keep the fans in good mood. On that note, here is predicting the team's playing XI for IPL 2021.

Openers: Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali

Well, this will be an explosive opening combination. While Faf can hold one end of the crease, Moeen will be given the license to go bonkers. The left-right combination also clicks well here. There are plenty of backups available too. While the likes of Jagadeesan and Ruturaj are there, CSK can also use the latest recruit - Cheteshwar Pujara.

Backups: N Jagadeesan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad

Middle-Order: Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, and MS Dhoni (C&WK)

If CSK's middle-order comes good, hands down, the men in yellow will be walking away with their fourth trophy. There is plenty of experience in this department, but the only worry remains the form. Although the return of Raina does add some balance, the likes of MSD and Rayudu must stay consistent to win matches for their team.

Backups: Cheteshwar Pujara and Robin Uthappa

All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, K Gowtham and Dwayne Bravo

This will be the strength of this franchise. There are four men who can win games either with the ball or bat on their day. That said, in CSK's case, there will be clear role-defining. Jaddu may have to support the batting unit completely while Bravo must add depth to the bowling. Sam Curran is a proper T20 bowler while K Gowtham is a tailor-made T20 cricketer. MSD has a plethora of options to consider next season.

Backups: Mitchell Santner

Bowlers: Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar

India cricketers Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar will carry CSK's bowling attack next season. Not to forget, both can bat a bit and that will be of help in close games. While Chahar will look to take wickets early, Thakur's primary job will be in the middle-overs. Lungi Ngidi and Imran Tahir are suitable backups in this department.

Backups: Lungi Ngidi, Josh Hazelwood, Imran Tahir and KM Asif
