"Great thing about bowling under MS is..."- Moeen Ali credits MS Dhoni after his Match-winning performance vs LSG

Chennai Super Kings played their first home game since 2012 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. And they made it grand with some firepower. CSK locked horns with LSG in the 6th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 and registered their first win of the season.

It started with LSG winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. CSK got off to a flying start with both openers adding 110 runs for the first wicket in just 9.1 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored successive half-centuries and made 57 off 31, with three fours and four sixes.

Devon Conway also contributed well with his 29-ball 47. Shivam Dube (27 off 16) and Ambati Rayudu (27* off 14) also played good cameos. As a result, CSK posted a huge score of 217/7 in their first inning. Adding to that, MS Dhoni ended the inning with two sixes off his first two balls from Mark Wood, which lit up the whole stadium.

Fans were going berserk. But LSG was also good at their start and matched the power hitting that CSK had in their inning. They were at 73/0 in the first five overs, courtesy of Kyle Mayers' 53 off 22. And then, MSD introduced Moeen Ali, who gave CSK their first breakthrough.

Moeen took wickets in each of his first three overs and ended up with 4/26 in four overs, which became the difference between the two teams. As a result, he also won "Man of the Match." After the game, Moeen spoke about his performance in the post-match conference.

He said, "MS (Dhoni) knows what he’s doing. The great thing about bowling under MS is he knows when to bowl players. It’s (bowling) not easy. It was a tough one because obviously they have big hitters. I tried to bowl like I do in Test cricket and just spin it as hard as I can. They have big hitters so you don’t want to get it up there."

LSG managed 205/7 in their chase and lost the game by 12 runs. With this win, CSK has collected two important points on the board. CSK will now face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday, April 8.
