"Let’s have a cracking series"- Irfan Pathan hilariously trolls Australian media and experts over Nagpur pitch

The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is about to get underway in a few hours. Both teams will play the first test on Thursday at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur at 9:30 in the morning.

The intensity for the upcoming series has already reached its peak, with former cricketers from both sides making various statements ahead of the series. There have been a few exchanges of words and banter between some former cricketers from both teams.

It was not too long ago when India suffered a horrible 36-all out in Adelaide, and not many gave India a chance in the series to make a comeback. But after that, whatever happened became history. India won the series 2-1 to complete a hat-trick of BGT series victories. And now, the Australian team is in India in search of a turnaround.

However, many former Australian cricketers have started questioning the pitches in India. The drama has already started over the pitch to be used in the first test in Nagpur. The Australian media has claimed that the pitch was made to help the Indian spinners against the Australian left-handers.

Meanwhile, the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, has declined all those claims and said that they are focusing on the game. However, amid all those talks about the pitch, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has taken a cheeky dig at those who are questioning the pitch.

He shared a picture of the pitch used in 2013 Ashes at WACA, with a caption, "Let’s have a cracking series;) #BGT #INDIA #australia."

There is no doubt that the pitches in India favour the spinners more, which is why Australia also has four spinners in their squad. And in recent times, the Indian batters have also struggled against spin. Thus, whichever team can use the condition well might get an edge over the opposition.
