And now, the Tendulkar family has received another good news, again in December, 33 years after Sachin's debut. Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar has got his maiden call to Mumbai's Ranji Trophy team.
Arjun Tendulkar has got a chance in Mumbai's 20-man Ranji squad for this season. He was named in the Mumbai squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India's domestic Twenty20 tournament last year. He played 2 matches during the tournament. And now the 22-year-old left-arm pacer is set to make his debut in first-class cricket.
Earlier this year, Arjun got a team in IPL for the first time. He was bought by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 20 lakh, his father Sachin was the advisor of the team and has also played for them. However, Arjun did not get a chance to play any matches. Later he got injured.
Those two matches of the Mushtaq Ali Trophy are Arjun's experience in recognized cricket. He has also played two youth Tests for the India U-19 team in 2016 during the tour of Sri Lanka.
Arjun's father Sachin's record for Mumbai is incredible. He got a place in the Indian team at the age of 16 and could not play many matches for the state team.
